Who are the Knights?
The Knights of Columbus (KofC) is the world's largest Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.

Cumulative figures show that during the past decade, the Knights of Columbus has donated more than $1.367 billion to charity, and provided nearly 640 million hours of volunteer service in support of charitable initiatives.

As a member of the Knights of Columbus you and your family enjoy many benefits, including 12 free issues annually of Columbia magazine, the world's largest Catholic family magazine, eligibility to join the Knights of Columbus top-ranked life insurance program, and many more family and personal benefits.

You have the opportunity to meet other like-minded men of St. Priscilla Parish and grow your spirituality and community service. You can volunteer in various ways, including, but not limited to:

  • Pancake Breakfasts - fund-raisers for our two seminarians. Men may buy the food, cook, serve, setup, brew coffee, fill pictures of pop/water, cleanup, etc..
  • Spaghetti Dinners - buy food, cook, brew coffee, setup, fill pictures of pop/water, serve, cleanup, and more.
  • Mother's Day Roses for Life - taking donations for flowers, with all proceeds going to Right to Life.
  • MI Drive ("Tootsie Rolls") - taking donations at the parish or outside nearby stores. Proceeds benefit our parish "Faith & Friendship", as well as the national drive for mentally impaired.
  • Faith & Friendship Christmas Party - helping serve food and drinks.
  • Hospitality Weekend (coffee & donuts) - our council hosts one weekend a year. Donuts are provided, we just brew lots of coffee! Plus, fill pictures of pop and water.
  • Christmas Cards - all proceeds go to Right to Life.
  • GIFT (Growing In Faith Together) - the Knights are sometimes asked to help out.
  • Parish Picnic - we may be asked to help in setup or other needs.

Social activities include:

  • Euchre Parties - all adult men & women of the parish are welcome for a night of card playing.
  • Burger & Beer - for members & non-members to meet and talk about what we do.
  • Corporate Communion - where our council presents a check to a charity at the end of a weekend Mass.

Our volunteer opportunities are also social events. This isn't "a job", where you work, but can't talk to one another. This is about men of the parish coming together for a common goal. We enjoy helping one another, as well as joking around, talking about our families and our spiritual lives. It's a special place where you can go and talk to other Catholic men about your faith. Often, in our secular world we are surrounded by many faiths. In this community, everyone is "on the same page" (Catholic).

As a member of our council 13731, membership also includes:

  • Monthly council newsletter mailed to your home.
  • Free KofC baseball hat.
  • Free KofC council shirt, customized with our council number & your first name.

4th Degree

Any Third Degree member in good standing, one year after the anniversary of his First Degree, is eligible for membership in the Fourth Degree. The primary purpose of the Fourth Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights' respective countries through active membership in local Fourth Degree groups (called "assemblies"). Certain members of the Fourth Degree serve as honor guards at civic and religious functions, an activity that has brought worldwide recognition to the Knights of Columbus.
