Lifetouch Photo Directory

Join us as we CONNECT our families.

We need you to make our new parish family 50th Anniversary Commemorative Directory complete!
Let's put names with faces. We have chosen to partner with Lifetouch for professional photography that will connect our members and tell our story. Our 2011 directory will include a history section with photos of the people & events from our parish over the years. There will be a photo section of parish families and a roster section with contact information for our parish families.

Q: What should I bring to the photo session? (Updated 8-13-11)
A: YOU SHOULD TAKE THIS PERSONALLY!
Lifetouch encourages you to bring to your portrait session something that says who you are. Perhaps a: hat, pin, scarf, musical instrument, Bible, sports gear, ... whatever it is that’s important to you! You can get all dressed up or come casual, it's up to you.

Q: I have a pet, can it be included in our family photo?
A: Yes. You are welcome to bring it with you for inclusion in your portrait session!

Q: Are you looking for parish photos of past events & people? (Updated 8-13-11)
A: Yes we are. If you have any photos of parish events, people or of the buildings & grounds (i.e. Mass at the Clarenceville Junior High Gym, early parish buildings before present day), etc., please contact us. We can take photos in various formats, including: digital, scanned photos, prints, negatives, etc.. We are in need of photos for the whole 50 year span, not just the early years. Please contact Monica Nelson at (734) 261-0753 or Monica-Nelson@live.com or Jim Kennedy at (248) 478-5531 or JimK@mi.rr.com or the Mary Jo in the parish office (248) 476-4700. Thank You!

Q: Has the parish ever created a directory before? (Updated 7-29-11)
A: Yes, we had a directory produced by Lifetouch back in 2000. We also had a 25 year anniv. directory in 1986.

Q: What is the Lifetouch website?
A: http://www.lifetouch.com

Q; How much time should I allow for the photography?
A: We are asking you to allow 40 minutes, this includes: sign-in, getting settled in with the photographer, making your selection of any additional photo products desired and paying for them if that's what you choose to do at that time.

Q: How long before I get my photographs & directory?
A: We estimate it will be Thanksgiving. This will allow us to get photos from our 50th Anniversary Mass on 10-16-11 added to the directory.

Q: Will the photographs be in color?
A: Yes. The only exceptions would be any black & white photos in the History (of our parish) section or any other B/W photos. Any photos the LifeTouch photographers take will be in full color.

Q: What is included in the directory? (updated 7-29-11)
A: A History section (i.e. photos of parish events & people over the years), family portraits section (i.e. photos of parishioners taken in August), and a Roster section (listing of the parishioners with name, address, phone, email). This is a hardcover book, professionally made, a keepsake. Many parishinors find it helpful in matching names to faces & faces to names. Or simply looking up someone in the roster section.

Q: Can we use a recent family portiat instead of the Lifetouch people creating a new one? (Updated 8-13-11)
A: Yes, however, there is a permission form you will need to sumbit to the studio that took your family photo. This form asks permission from the studio to use the photo in our parish directory.
1.) Right-click on this link (Lifetouch_Auth_Form_editable.pdf) and select "Save Target As..." in Internet Explorer 8 (or "Save Link As..." in Firefox), to save the Adobe PDF to your computer (other web browsers may vary). (Or click on the link to open in Adobe Reader, and then save or print from there.) Once saved to your computer, this form can be filled out by typing into each of the fields, except for the Signature line.
2.) Print & mail or email to your photo studio to be filled out.
3.) Finally, return the completed form to Monica Nelson at (734) 261-0753 or Monica-Nelson@live.com with a copy of the photo to be included in the parish directory of your household member(s). If you have any questions, please contact Monica.

Q: Can I get an extra copy(s) of the parish directory for my family/friends? (updated 8-13-11, 7-29-11)
A: Yes, but there will be a small charge (under $15/copy?). We're not sure of the exact price per add'l copy, but it will be under $15. Check back here, as this information will be updated when we get the exact price. Please order any extra copy(s) desired at the time of your photo session, so Lifetouch can print enough directories.

Q: Who decides how much of my information is included in the Roster section of the Directory? (Updated 8-13-11)
A: The Roster section of the directory will include: name, address, phone and email address. Information for the roster for those who sign-up online will be taken at their photo session. If you don't want certain information in the directory, please tell us when you have your paperwork filled out (room 3).

Q: Can someone who doesn't belong to the parish, have their own professional photo taken by Lifetouch?
A: Yes, though they will need to pay for those services. Non-parishinors will not be included in the directory or receive a copy.

Q: Can I reschedule my photo session online? (Added 8-13-11, 7-29-11)
A: Yes, but you must first cancel your existing session at least 24 hours before your portrait session. Then you can schedule a new session.

Q: Something came up last minute & I couldn't make it and didn't know who to call. Can I reschedule? (Added 8-13-11)
A: If you can't make it, you can call the parish office (248-476-4700) & leave a message. Yes, you can reschedule, either use the Lifetouch website (link above) or call the parish office: (248) 476-4700.

Q: Are there any discounts for puchasing photo products? (Added 8-13-11)
A: Yes, there is a 20% off senior discount (55 yrs. & over), Lifetouch volunteer discount, $5 off if you bring in a can good to church, 10% off if you sign-up online, and a discount for parish staff members.

Q: I see the first few weeks are full, will more dates be added? (Added 8-13-11)
A: Yes, a third week was added, then it filled up. So the start of a fourth week was added, heading into September, But don't put it off, sign-up ASAP, because at a point, they will call it and no more days will be added.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
