Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist (EMEs) serve the community by assisting in the distribution of the Body and Blood at Mass. EMEs must be confirmed members of the parish. Individuals must meet with Fr. Theo as part of a discernment process and complete both practical and formational training before beginning to serve. New parishioners who are experienced EMEs also need to meet with Fr. Theo and the EME Coordinator before joining our ministry here at St. Priscilla.
All EMEs are now scheduled for weekend liturgies, so it is important to confirm your correct contact information and availability with the EME Coordinator and keep the information up to date. EMEs are expected to arrive at Mass a minimum of ten minutes early to sign in and prepare for Mass. If a scheduled EME has not signed in by five minutes before Mass begins, a replacement will be found. Sign-up sheets may be announced for specific Masses, especially during holidays.
Botsford Hospital is in need of EMEs to volunteer for a couple of hours a month. Please contact Kay Kermode (248) 476-4700 or Beth Pumo (734) 552-0889 if you are interested.
If you are considering becoming an EME or you have questions or concerns, please contact Esther Strohmer at 248-380-6572.
